Privacy Policy

Vityss is private by default. It reads Apple Health, derives your scores on your device and Apple Watch, and shows them to you. This policy explains what stays on your device and the narrow diagnostics that can leave it.

Not medical advice

Vityss provides wellness and lifestyle insights only. Its scores, trends and suggestions are estimates derived from consumer sensor data and cannot be treated as final, accurate or complete. They are not a medical diagnosis and are not a doctor's recommendation, and must not be used to make health decisions on their own. Always consult a qualified clinician about your health, and seek immediate medical care for any urgent symptoms. Vityss is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition.

The short version

  • Your health data never leaves your device. It is read from Apple Health, processed on-device, and stored on-device.
  • We have no backend and no account. Vityss does not upload your Health data, scores, sleep audio, location, name or date of birth anywhere.
  • The only data that can leave the device is optional, anonymised crash and usage diagnostics (see below), which you control.
  • We do not track you for advertising. Diagnostics are not linked to third-party data for ads, and we do not share data with data brokers.

Apple Health (HealthKit)

Vityss requests read-only access to the Health types it needs (heart rate, HRV, sleep, respiratory rate, activity, and similar). It never writes to Health unless you explicitly turn on optional logging — in which case only the items you log yourself (caffeine, alcohol, water) are saved back to Apple Health so your records stay complete. Health data is used only to compute your on-device insights and is never transmitted off the device.

Microphone & location (Sleep sessions)

During a sleep session you start, Vityss measures bedroom loudness on-device to detect snoring. A short audio clip is saved only for a confirmed snore, stored locally on your phone, and never uploaded. Location is used only as a background keep-alive so a call or lock can't stop recording — your location is never read, stored or shared.

Diagnostics (the one thing that can leave the device)

To keep the app stable and understand which features are used, Vityss can send limited diagnostics via Google Firebase:

  • Crash & performance reporting (Firebase Crashlytics / Performance) — on by default, opt-out anytime in Settings › Privacy & data sharing.
  • Usage analytics (Firebase Analytics) — off by default, opt-in only.

These carry a fixed, pre-approved list of events and error types. They never include your health data, name, date of birth, sex, scores, audio, location, or exact timestamps. They are used only for app functionality and product analytics — not for tracking under Apple's definition (no advertising ID use, no linking to third-party data for ads, no data brokers). You can turn crash reporting and analytics on or off in the app at any time.

Subscriptions

Vityss Pro is sold through Apple's In-App Purchase. Payments, billing and renewals are handled by Apple — we never see or store your payment details. Entitlements are verified on-device. Subscription terms are in our Terms of Use.

Third parties

  • Apple — App Store, HealthKit, and the on-device Foundation Models that power the AI advisor (which runs on your device).
  • Google Firebase — crash, performance and (opt-in) usage diagnostics only, as described above.

Your data & deletion

Because your data lives on your device, you are in control of it. Settings › Preferences & data › Reset & delete all data erases everything Vityss stored locally. Uninstalling the app removes it too. There is nothing stored on our servers to delete.

Children

Vityss is not directed at children and is intended for users old enough to have their own Apple Health data and Apple ID.

Changes

We may update this policy as the app evolves; material changes will be reflected here with a new "last updated" date.
